Eric was born in The Netherlands in 1980. As a child he had always been attracted to the underground illustrations and logo art on skateboards, album sleeves, T-shirts and gig posters. This interest inspired him to become the illustrator and designer he is today. Eric studied multimedia design and worked as a desktop publisher and multimedia designer for two years. In 2006 he founded Boom Artwork and started freelancing as an illustrator and graphic designer. At the same time Eric started studying illustrative design at the School of Arts in Utrecht, the Netherlands. In 2008 Eric went to Brighton, United Kingdom, to do work experience at the award winning design agency Red, where he worked on several high-end projects. He graduated with honours in summer 2009 and received a lot of online attention with his graduation project The Great Carnival. Since graduation Eric has continued freelancing, working on projects for big and small clients all over the world. His illustration work is often described as strong and detailed, vintage with a modern

look, authentic and elegant with an edge. His inspiration is found in daily life, contemporary art, music, film, friends and the great history of art. Combining traditional techniques with contemporary technology, Eric is not afraid to experiment and is always trying to develop his style and skills, looking for new ways to communicate his work. Producing a wide range of illustrative design work for advertising, cultural markets, fashion, editorial and the music industry, he has worked for clients including Amsterdam Central Station, Fair Wear Foundation, Fred de la Bretoniere, Golden Earring, MTV Networks, Ray Ban, Rochester NY Jazz Festival. His work includes: poster and flyer design, T-shirt print design, brochures and adverts, portraits, logo and identity, custom lettering, editorial illustrations, book covers, record sleeves, packaging design, website design, murals and more. Beside working on commissioned assignments, Eric also mounts exhibitions where he shows his paintings and 3D painted objects. He also likes to collaborate on projects, finding new inspiration and sharing knowledge.
